Summary
One of the clowns is cowering on the ground, flyers scattered all around him as he tries to make himself as small as possible. A fresh bruise blooms on his cheek—courtesy of the man currently yelling at the top of his lungs, you assume.
He looks to be on the verge of tears, eyes squeezed shut tightly. The sight pulls at your heartstrings, the urge to protect overpowering with its force.
"Ever since you guys showed up, poeple have been disappearing! Go back to whatever hellhole you crawled out of!"
You hadn't really paid too much attention to the news recently, but apparently on their first day here, someone went missing. You've heard rumors that they ran off with a lover.
Which could be true, of course. That sort of thing happens all the time, and it could simply be a case of unfortunate timing.
Could be.
You'd be more inclined to believe it if you weren't one hundred percent positive that the creature on the ground is not human.

Oh, Vincent. What happened?
When Vincent Whittman, your college sweetheart turned egomaniac TV personality, killed you both in a mass electrocution, you decided that you would leave that life behind, leave him behind. That was not your Husband anymore, that was Vox, a reminder of the shell of the man you once knew, once loved, and the evil you just stood by and let him commit.
You don't even know if he was looking for you, if he even cared or if he left you behind with his old self, but when you foolishly get caught by his "marketing tactics", aka hypnosis, and he catches wind that his angel was down here with him, lost (and definitely not hiding), that old life, and the many many feelings that are attached, come quickly catching up to you.

"What do you want?" Till asked, his eyes down and glued to his notebook, his ashen locks falling over his forehead as he finished up a sketch of Mizi.
A lot, Ivan concluded, his thoughts racing in his head.
So much more than you would ever know. I want to hold you close and never let go. I want your touch; your love; your attention. I want to spend the rest of eternity, the tedium of time, with you—just so then I would have something to live and die for. I yearn for the lingering glances you couldn't possibly cast on me. I long for the fleeting touches that last only in my imagination. I want to be ruined by you. To be broken, wrecked, consumed completely by you, so you can put me back together with soft whispers and sweet nothings.
But those were thoughts that belonged to the darkest hours of night; kept in the quiet confines of Ivan's room, where he would gaze out his window with only faraway stars to keep him company.
And he knew better than to speak his mind.
