Summary
Riza spots the burns marring the side of Edward’s face and neck, already weeping, and Roy watches the horror dawn on her face.
“Colonel—”
“They were going to kill me,” Roy grovels, the nerves hiking up his throat, Edward heavy in his arms, “he—Riza, help him.”
Edward does not know how flame alchemy works, much less how to work it safely.
When push comes to shove—when desperate times call for desperate ditch-efforts—Edward works it anyway.

Freddy opened his eyes as night fell, and his shoulders immediately slumped. This was not his first time being free of the virus. They had all had several chances over the last year and a half; never had they succeeded in saving the children from Vanessa.
Whatever or whoever was behind the virus—behind Vanessa’s actions—had outsmarted them bit by bit until they were as helpless as they were under the virus’s effects anyway.
(In which the children are always young and small and scared—until the one who is young and small and has a knife.)

Summary
All Gregory wanted was a warm place to sleep and some (stolen) food, but he ends up being hunted down by murderous animatronics and security guards alike, having to quite literally fight for his life, and he can’t escape no matter what he does — given that time keeps resetting whenever he dies.
Maybe this all has to do with what’s hiding in the basement, and everything else that’s haunting the Pizzaplex … too bad for them, Gregory isn’t going to give up on this.
