Summary
When Kaveh got back from the desert, Alhaitham was different. No one else could see it but him, and that's because theirs was the bond that was supposed to be strongest. But it's been years since they would truly call each other friend, and now Alhaitham has an experience that Kaveh can't come close to. Nostalgia is so useless; Kaveh's heart aches with it and all he wants is to go back.
(Alhaitham and Kaveh navigating their relationship. Third person, Kaveh's POV, tags will update as it goes, side Cynoari. About 7-8 chapters in the timeline, half of it is written. Please do check the author's notes for more spoiler-y warnings if you need them.)

Summary
The architect, in a moment of rage and spite, grabbed the wire of the headset and yanked it as hard as he possibly could, effectively ripping the cord from the port and rendering the device useless.
AlHaitham’s face fell almost immediately, just as his body froze and realization washed over him. He stared at the earpiece in Kaveh’s hands, his eyes wide with shock.
