Summary
The beginning of something new.
Or, Mordecai and Rigby fuse for the first time.
Note: Confused on what fusion is? There's a summary in the comments! However as a brief explanation, basically it's when two (or more) people combine physical forms to make a new form that is stronger and has new abilities different than the originals.
There are various versions of this concept . I'm basing it off of Steven universe mostly. A little bit off pacific rim. Not really off of dragon ball, though it exists there too.

Summary
Regular Show but people can fuse Steven Universe style. Takes place before season 8, but not set in a specific season because I'm kinda just picking and choosing various things I like that happen before season 8 to use.
Focuses mainly on Mordecai & Rigby's relationship but will dive into their relationship with others too as people find out about them fusing.
I am a very slow writer & just go along with whatever fandom my brain decides that I like at the moment, so expect infrequent updates. Probably gonna start updating more once school starts though.

Here we are post-Village, after the boys, surviving and with Miranda dead, have been hauled back to the US to decide just what's going to happen with them. They encounter some unexpected allies when they get there, though.
Some minor shifting in perspective throughout, probably every couple chapters. Might be smut in later chaps. SLOW updates likely!

His planet was just only a day away, the beautiful sphere being visible from the ship. We also did have work to do, mainly figuring out how to get close enough for the Eridians to know we’re there but also far away enough where we didn’t get pulled into the atmosphere and crash and die. But we’ve had years to prepare. We had done the math a billion times over and checked one more time, just in case. Rocky still held little faith in my piloting abilities, leaving him worried about the not crashing and dying part. He is also anxious to be home. To get off a spaceship, to be on solid ground, to tell his tales, to be reunited with Adrian.

yay grace and rocky make it to erid in one piece! but oh... grace is stuck in the ship before he is able to come down to the planet... right... he'll be okay. probably.

“Hey! It’s a lot up here, okay? It’s a normal response to stress.” He rubs a hand over his face. “Okay, I cried a lot down there, too. But not in class! Not if I could help it. But having to say goodbye, gosh, I’ve never been good at that.” Grace laughs, but it sounds sad. His mouth is shut firmly, and he leans against my ball. He’s so soft, his body melds to the side of the xenonite with ease. “I can’t imagine what a mess I’ll be when—” he cuts himself off, but I know what was coming next.
I’m not sure how I’ll be when we say goodbye either. It didn’t seem like it’d matter so much at first, after all, if we part ways, it means we succeeded. I’d be going back to Erid, to Adrian, to home. But I’d be leaving behind Grace. The thought of that is unpleasant. It sinks deep in me; the emotion is painfully familiar. It’s been a long time since I’ve had anyone to mourn losing anyone again. I don’t want to think about it, I’m not ready.
or 5 times Rocky feels something for Grace. 1 time he does something about it.

Summary
After years of living in a post-Miranda world, Ethan still feels guilty about never searching for Mia. Despite having succeeded in saving his daughter and living an idealistic life with Karl, that guilt eats at him.
Even if for a moment.
When he lets it slip to The Duke, the merchant's good intentions, introspective questions, and time altering powers combine to give present-Ethan a not-so-good-very-bad-time back in the Village.
And past-Ethan, well, he gets to enjoy the idealistic lifestyle present-Ethan was doubting.

Ethan tips his liquor bottle to his mouth, intent on getting a decent buzz going before Heisenberg hauls him off to the castle, where he gets himself mauled by a Lycan again. Or speared up by deadly spikes. Or-

Cheap vodka — again.
Liquor sloshes as he lowers it, propping it up on his thigh. “What’s the Theseus Paradox?”
Heisenberg’s brow twitches beneath the brim of his hat. “How quaint,” he murmurs. “A drunk man grasping at philosophy.”
“Answer the question.”
There’s a beat and Heisenberg shifts his grip on the hammer, metal creaking faintly as it settles against his shoulder. “It’s about identity,” he says finally. “Replace something piece by piece — every part, one at a time. At what point does it stop being the same thing?”

Ethan dies. Ethan wakes. Ethan dies. Ethan wakes. He's trapped in a cursed cycle on the worst possible day and he just can't seem to get it right. Can't save Rose. Can't save Mia. Can't do anything but die and wake up next to that overturned truck again.
Well. At least his aim gets better.
