Lying on the dirt, under the autumn sun, it came to him easily. He had thought about death a lot, yet he had never imagined a slow, excruciating curse to be his end.
He didn’t think of much, in that quiet, unshakeable revelation of his impending doom. But of the few things that crossed his mind, there was the green of Ciri’s eyes, in the forefront. Then, hidden deeper, there was Emhyr's oud and amber, and Geralt felt that ache again, bone-deep.
