Summary
To Julian, being a Bear is odd. Personally, he thinks the Cat and Viper schools’ reputation, they should be the odd ones, but no, it’s Bears. The other schools, Wolfs, Griffin, Crane, and the few Manticore he hears rumors of, are all able to get along (with some grumbling). Maybe it’s an artifact from the days of the mages, subconsciously avoiding the beastly Bears. He doesn't blame them but the path is lonely.
From the other few Witcher’s he’s met, they don’t mean to avoid Bears. And from their reactions, they haven’t or have rarely run into Bear Witchers. Maybe it’s just the kind of contracts Bears tend to take. That thought leads Julian out of his head and back to his current Hunt.

Summary
She was a child of Night, swaddled in moonbeams, powdered in stardust. The celestial spheres sang her to sleep, and she raced comets across the starfields, laughing, swam and tumbled in the surf of supernovas. And so she grew, wrapped in her mother’s loving embrace, until she took a post at one of the countless doors to the Temple of Night.
Nile gradually met others like Andromache. It took centuries; her threshold was one of many, and the exiled souls were few. They remembered nothing of her or the doorway when they returned to their lives, as the veil of death was impermeable, but their memories came back when they did; and so she gradually got to know them. By the time she met them, they were accustomed to their strange fate, but she did wonder what it was like the first time an exiled soul arrived at the threshold. How would she know to turn them back?

Summary
Jaskier had climbed the trail up to the keep before with Geralt and it had definitely taken a lot less time. (The Witchers themselves called it ‘the killer’, and they had the nerve to call Jaskier dramatic). But Geralt was only pretending he wasn’t ill, and Jaskier himself was admittedly tired and sore and hungry again. The bread and dried fruit they’d bought for lunch with their last orrens barely made a dent in it.
After a hard year, Jaskier and Geralt head up to Kaer Morhen for the winter to rest and recover. But they aren’t the only guests, and Jaskier rummages around in everybody’s closets until he finds the ghosts.

Lambert is seriously injured on a political visit gone wrong. Jan helps to find shared rooms because there is NO way that the four of them (Aiden, Aleksander, Lambert, and Milena) will be apart again, except for on Witcher Business.
In which Jan helps with the acquisition of shared rooms, because as it turns out, the unwillingness to be parted is compounded four fold. Aiden can’t sleep without knowing Lambert is close. Aleksander can’t help but see Lambert’s blood on his hands when he closes his eyes, and Milena has just had entirely too much stress to handle in the last few days. If she was a proper Lady, she would swoon, but as it is, she just wants to stab something. She’s spending entirely too much time in the company of her now-legal husband.
