"I’m thinking of leaving.”
Steve almost chokes on his cigarette, hastily moving it from his lips and looking to Eddie where he stands beside him. He looks relaxed, despite the words that just left his mouth. A thin trail of smoke travels up towards the sky from his own cigarette that’s pinched between his fingers. Watching the smoke slowly fade into nothingness feels oddly foreboding.

Or, After Vecna is defeated and life returns to normal, Steve finally has a chance to become actual friends with Eddie Munson. But any potential for friendship seems lost when Eddie decides to move to Nashville to pursue music after graduating.
It’s Steve’s idea to become pen pals.
Over summer and into fall and winter, Steve battles insecurities around himself, as well as his own future and his parents’ expectations. As his friendship with Eddie deepens into something greater, Steve finds that there’s more to himself than he expected, and more to his friendship with Eddie than he ever imagined.

She keeps talking, but he can’t hear it.
He can’t hear anything but the ringing in his ears. The way his bones creak. The way his face is contorting, his mouth dropping, his eyes straining with fear and pure, unadulterated rage.

Tony worries his brain is misfiring, transporting him across time and space in one final insane journey. He swallows hard, and he hears those garbled voices again. He can’t make out words, or tone, or who the hell is talking, but somebody definitely is, and it sounds strangely like they’re underwater. Or he is.
He grits his teeth and turns around, and before he can even begin to trudge over towards Peter’s room, he’s stopped in his tracks.
By a door. In the middle. Of the living room. Straight up and down like a monolith, just beside the glass coffee table.
Tony chews on his lower lip and stares at it. “Well that’s new,” he says, still rooted to the spot.

ORIGINAL SUMMARY:
Steve Harrington had the best of both worlds. By day he could be a normal person, but by night he got to perform at sold-out stadiums as pop sensation Zayne Maine. One scandal has him sent back to the small town he was supposed to grow up in, however, with the instructions that he's supposed to spend the summer figuring out who he is without the wig and makeup.
Eddie Munson is the lead singer of the rock band Corroded Coffin with a reputation that precedes him. When he decided to spend the summer in his old hometown to help finish their next long-awaited album, he never expected to meet someone with close ties to his famous rival.
