Shi Qingxuan was already squealing, patting the table to gain Hua Cheng’s attention, “He’s coming over here!”
Hua Cheng looked up in irritation, “Stop that.”
“No, look!”
So, he did look and he almost got a heart attack when he saw Xie Lian smiling as he walked towards their table as a light was following him. God, even during his near death, Hua Cheng thought that Xie Lian was handsome as he strode confidently to them.
When Xie Lian stopped in front of him, the murmurs went silent and Hua Cheng’s eye widened. Was he hallucinating or was Xie Lian really standing in front of him? It went impossibly wider when Xie Lian outstretched his hand to him, an offer.
“May I have this dance?”

Or. Prom is coming up and Xie Lian had to learn a special dance for it. Hua Cheng was willing to help him, of course, even if it pained him to think Xie Lian would have to dance with someone else on the actual prom.Everyone but him realized that Xie Lian only had him in his mind all along.

Herein lies the problem: Feng Xin has horrible, ridiculous, extremely inconvenient and unrequited feelings for Mu Qing. He doesn’t know when he’d started thinking of Mu Qing’s eyeroll as endearing rather than extremely fucking irritating, he doesn’t know when he’d started thinking of him when the sun sets, an idle wish for his company on his tongue, he doesn’t know when he’d started buying cherry bread to bring home because he knows Mu Qing likes it.
Herein lies a second problem: Mu Qing has abhorrent, incorrigible, inconvenient, and extremely unrequited feelings for Feng Xin. He fell for him in high school, in a June afternoon, after a particularly nasty fight that ended in avoidance for weeks. Feng Xin had brought him cherries, hand picked with the effort Feng Xin only puts into things he cares about, an apology stuttered out of a shaking voice, a plea to stay.
He’s been annoyingly, unfortunately in love with him ever since.or, Mu Qing and Feng Xin fall in love on a beach.

Summary
It was just a normal morning.
The night before went the same as usual, Hua Cheng and Xie Lian holding each other as they drifted to sleep. Nothing out of the ordinary.
They braided each other's hair before going to sleep, hopefully to eliminate wasted time in the morning spent brushing each other's hair.
Nothing new, nothing different. Just a normal day. That’s why Hua Cheng spent the majority of his morning watching his husband sleep.
He watched his beloved’s chest rise and fall. He caressed Xie Lian’s pretty face as he slept, thankful his husband was a heavy sleeper when they laid next to one another.
He was so entranced by his husband's beauty he didn’t even notice the absence of a certain piece of cloth over his non-existent eye.
Or
Hua Cheng isn’t as sure of himself as he looks, and truly is just a coward that hides behind an eyepatch.
But his Gege is there to prove him wrong.
