At one point in time, Maeve liked Otis, but she made herself get over him.
And Otis likes Maeve, but he never knew if she’d ever like someone like him back.
Through missed connections and failed relationships, the timing was never right.However, for once, time is working in their favour: they are both single and heading off to Oxford University.
But, Maeve made herself get over Otis.
And they are friends. Best friends.

Summary
It is now a globally agreed opinion that S4 did our beloved Otis and Maeve dirty. They deserved so much better, if not a proper happy ending, they deserved at least some moments of enjoyment together without any unnecessary drama.
Many fanfics have come up with events post S4 and a portrayal of a reunion between Otis and Maeve. I have carefully thought of a similar idea taking inspiration from a few of the uncovered little things from the show.
I will try to keep the portrayal of the characters as consistent as possible from the way they are depicted in the show.
A request to the reader -- English isn't my first language, so kindly cut some slack towards a few grammatical intricacies.
Also, this is my first work in story writing and I'm so glad that this is inspired by one of my most adored ships!
