He could do it, until he couldn’t. “My fellow future engineer,” MJ had said. There were his two best friends, and they had made it into MIT. They had futures now. Ones that didn’t involved getting arrested or rejected from every college admittance board for their participation in “recent controversies”. Without Spider-Man, they were better. Without Peter… they were better.
Peter leaves MJ and Ned behind in a donut shop. And then he comes back. A lot.

Real exhilarating stuff you see, it’s just I forgot something pretty important back earthside. I was wondering if you could grab it for me.” Roy must be insane. Why the hell would he leave New York just to fly to Star City, then to the watchtower on a whim? Clearly, if it was so important, Roy wouldn’t have forgotten it. He’s not about to go on a fool's errand!
“Ask someone else.” He scoffs, has every intention to hang up and forget about the whole interaction when Roy’s hurriedly speaking again. “It’s at Jason’s.”
