Ennis gives it a moment, lets the words settle on his tongue, shifting against Jack until he finally peeks up at him through his blond lashes. Jack is okay. His face is the same normal, handsome face that Ennis has come accustomed to seeing. There’s no blood anywhere, his bare chest is just soft skin, not a single drop of the viscous red substance to be found. He has both of his beautiful baby blue eyes and they’re gazing down at him with concern and all the love in the world.

Jack let himself sink down on the couch, his right hand going back and forth through his mustache hair. Had he really traveled back in time? The thought made his hair stand on end. Yet, he saw no other explanation for whatever was happening, and the more he thought about it, the more any other explanation that might have bloomed into his mind instantly withered."
