Rey and Jannah attend a basketball game with The New York Knights, tickets courtesy of her oldest friend, Finn Storm, Point Guard for the team. It's there she first gets to witness the tornado in action that is #03, Ben Solo. Things progress when she gets a chance to meet him in person after the game. He's cocky and smug, and there are girls all over him. Rey definitely wouldn't be interested in someone like him.

Hiya!! The idea for this has been churning in my brain for the past couple of weeks. It was partly inspired by an exchange I witnessed at my IRL job, and the rest was just about exploring how shy Ben might struggle to approach the lovely Rey in this scenario. Most of my fics involve internal conflict, whether it be insecurity, depression, guilt, or other things. This one is super light and playful, aside from Ben's struggle with social anxiety.
That being said, I hope you enjoy this fluffy, wholesome little fic.
Thanks to Jo for the title suggestion. She just blurted it out when I told her my idea, and how could I say no?? 😁

Eddie breaks their kiss and cups Steve’s face once more. Crying openly and all Steve can see are their last moments in The Upside Down.
The blood on his hands—the same blood that flowed from Eddie’s chest, his eyes fluttering shut, Steve’s muscles screaming in agony as he carried Eddie back to the realm of the living.

Eddie finds the book in this thrift shop like an hour outside of town. Sometimes he just drives somewhere, anywhere, on any road, just to see what he can find. Most towns are even smaller and shittier than Hawkins, but not always. He likes to go to thrift stores and shit, because he can find some seriously interesting stuff. He’s something of a magpie, always collecting shiny things.
It’s on an old school desk, the heavy wrought iron and hardwood kind. It’s half on top of an old chalk slate, the sort that people used in school before paper was easily bought. It has a gnarly old cover, heavy, faded red leather and heavy scrolls of dirty gold. It has a weird…sigil or symbol or…something stamped on the front of it. Three crescent moons interlock, under a second set of crescent moons, under a third set of crescent moons, each larger than the last.
It looks fucking rad.

Summary
Eddie Munson is close to failing his Senior year…again. And in an effort to graduate this time around, Eddie is assigned Chrissy Cunningham, the strikingly beautiful, brainy head cheerleader, as his tutor. While the thought of being tutored is less than thrilling to Eddie, he feels it's not all bad if it means spending time alone with his middle school crush. But Eddie's not the only person with reservations about the arrangement. Jason Carver is peeved about all the extra time and attention Chrissy's giving Eddie, especially while having his own trouble wooing her. In an attempt to maintain control, a proposition is given to Eddie that puts him in an uncomfortable decision that forces him to choose between his blossoming feelings for Chrissy and his difficult feelings for the small town town he lives in.
