“We’ve had enough of your ‘gifts,’ doctor.”
“This time, it isn’t a gift, Akechi-kun.” Maruki said gently. “This is more… a way for you to understand what I’m doing is purely for your benefit.” He snapped his fingers, the sound echoing throughout the room. A screen started to descend in front of the group, flickering.
“There are so many things in this world that we’d be… happier without.” He explained as he stepped around the screen to enter their view once more. “It took me a while to see that certain memories aren’t meant to stick with us.” He said, voice shaky. “Traumatic events, regrets, and alike.”
He took a deep breath and snapped his fingers once more. “Please, watch this, and I’m sure you’ll understand why I did the things I did.”

Firestar has finally died, and he has time to rest. To go back and change things, at the cost of not knowing what family will await him when he dies, if any. And yet, he takes the offer and chooses to Live again and give the molly a chance to Live alongside him, to change the forest for the better.
