Summary
Orochimaru's attitude towards... everything... was most likely caused by the death of his parents. Perhaps, had he not been orphaned so young, he would've turned out different. Or at least not turned into a completely crazy scientist with no morals.
But what if they weren't dead? Somewhere in Hi no Kuni, a raven-haired woman escapes a lab with only one goal in mind. Returning to Konoha and seeing her son.
Liz, a technical body-snatcher, wakes up in the body of Orochimaru's mother, with the words: "I want to see my son." at the forefront of her mind. Liz is one of those Naruto fans who like to toy with the what-if scenarios the series presents due to all the redeemable characters. With Sound in the market for more strong ninja to recruit into their ranks as suitable vessels for Orochimaru, this is an opportunity Konoha can't pass up--and Sakura can't pass up the chance for a possible inroad to Sasuke.

Tsume just wants to be wanted, and finds herself collecting a kingdom of strays, from a newborn Kakashi abandoned at birth by his mother, to a naked 3 year old Naruto seeking refuge in Tsume’s dog kennels in the dead of winter, and a cranky old man named Danzo.
(Madara started it. Tsume regrets nothing, even if her taste is questionable. Danzo regrets himself into becoming a decent human being. Well, somewhat decent.)

The journey to redemption starts with a single (footless) step, and Sasori is determined to remain a sociopathic murder-gremlin while suffering the many trials and tribulations of a hormonal Inuzuka who only has two functioning brain cells while also fending off the psychological warfare of an Uchiha specializing in HR management, and is haplessly dragged into far too many shenanigans that include an Uchiha Obito embracing his inner midwife, summoned hellspawn, exploding sheep, and weaponized cheese.
Sasori ultimately discovers that a single stone thrown into a river creates many ripples through the world, like lifelong ties between Suna and Konoha, forgiveness for the man who killed his parents during the Second War, an unexpected friendship with Shukaku, part-time acquisition of Gaara in what could be argued is the world’s most awkward parenting arrangement, and a fucking dragon. No one warned him about dragons.
