His eyes glance over everyone. That man isn’t there.
“Kim Dokja…” He murmurs, heart clenching because what if, what if he was gone? That his third turn was the only one where he would appear, and never again would he see him again?

Yoo Joonghyuk had assumed that the only reason he hadn’t appeared earlier was because he’d died in those previous turns, yet what changed that would’ve caused Kim Dokja to die and Kim Namwoon to live, only for another turn for the reverse to happen?
..If instead that man was an anomaly, only existing in one world as a twist of fate, and never again. To never exist again in any one of his future turns in return for being a prophet who wanted to be his companion.
Then… (In the first place, wasn’t something meant to be happening now?) Yet he could only stand here distraught. Someone who he’d only met once yet he couldn’t imagine a world without him despite the ones where he had.

“Second, you follow my lead and change nothing.” He stressed.
“Third–”
Dokja interrupted, “I know, I know. Past and future..”
“..must remain untouched,” Yoo Joonghyuk finished.
“I know. Seriously, what’s that, the hundredth time you’ve told me? I could recite it in my sleep!”
“I’ll jump into the photo, and you’ll be my guide.”
He gave him a half-lidded stare, as if he was getting bored. “Let’s do it already.”
His friend gave an amused scoff.
Dokja gave a cheeky grin in response, holding his hand towards him, palm up.
Joonghyuk did that thing where it was like he was waiting for it to turn at a specific time before continuing an action. He didn’t know where it came from, hadn’t been there when they were kids, but he figured following some sort of invisible schedule seemed to comfort the man.
Dokja glanced at the watch on his friend’s hand, the one reaching out to him. 21:59, a few seconds away from hitting 22:00.
Once their hands were above each other, palms facing, they clapped.

He closed his eyes, leaning his head against the window behind him. Xiaoshi would respect his decision. No matter how much he hated it, and even when Guang had done the exact thing he’d told him not to… At the end of the day, they were partners.
After that, he stopped taking clients. It didn’t feel right. Guang had always told him not to go in alone, and while he’d sometimes done it even then.. It didn’t feel right without Guang in his head, telling him what to do.
They had zero pictures of each other so Xiaoshi couldn’t go back to see him one last time even if he wanted to. After he’d realized that it was the pictures that let them get possessed he’d deleted it all.
Now those memories were only in his head and Qiao Ling’s.
Qiao Ling had told him to go back home to Korea. That maybe it’d be a needed break from everything. That she’d be fine managing the studio herself, and that she had Shanshan with her.

“W-Well-” He tried to respond. He didn’t but he had used the excuse that he knew Yoo Joonghyuk for being a gamer. …If he said that though it would seem very parasocial and creepy, which he didn’t want to do at all.
..Was it any better that the truth was that he read his story in a book and got so attached he wrote love songs about him?
Sooyoung interrupted, “Wow, can’t believe you don’t remember! It was basically love at first sight!”
“That’s not–!”
“Don’t worry, master! I’m sure you’ll rekindle your love for ugly ahjussi! I won’t let it stay unrequited! After all, you both had a ch–”
