Dorian dreams he wakes up.
Dorian knows it has to be a dream, to have Fearne’s weight and warmth at his right side, Orym’s legs slung over his. The room even smells like the two of them, so achingly real. It hasn’t been a full month yet since Dorian left them. This isn’t the first dream he’s had about them since.
“I’ve missed you,” Dorian says softly. The moment he goes to open his eyes though, Fearne’s hand, soft and warm, covers them.
“No peeking.” Fearne’s voice is a mischievous sing-song. “And no moving either.”
Oh, it was going to be one of those dreams. “All right,” Dorian agrees, a grin slowly spreading across his face. “Do you have a surprise for me?”
“Yes.” Fearne’s good cheer sounds strained. “It was certainly a surprise to us, anyway.”
