    Each night when it starts to get dark, Goro thinks about responding to any of the mindless texts Akira has sent him throughout the day. Each night he remembers that Akira has spent the entire day with one of his friends, that he may well be planning on reneging on their deal because of how much he likes this new reality where his friends are perfect and Goro is alive but shuffled off somewhere in the background, saved and out of his life.

    Each night Goro eventually gets tired of thinking about all that. He puts his phone down and finds somewhere he’s not supposed to be instead.

    (Coping with the events of third semester, Goro Akechi finds that he likes watching things he's not supposed to see. One of those things is Akira Kurusu.)
