The Federal Incarceration Agency was not designed for comfort. Tall walls of stone and reinforced steel standing alone in the desert, an unnatural sight that contained the most unnatural of peoples. Within those tall walls lay the worst of society – murderers, traffickers, gang leaders and worse. Those that went in never were never heard of again, vanished as if they had never existed. Max’s earliest memories were warm.
They smelled like his mother’s jasmine perfume, soft and floral, the scent lingering in the air long after she had kissed his forehead goodnight. They felt like Victoria’s tiny fingers wrapping around his own, her giggles bright and endless as she toddled after him on wobbly legs as he kicked a football round the garden. They sounded like lullabies hummed in Dutch, words he didn’t always understand but still knew by heart.
_____________But Max should have known that nothing lasts forever, especially when your name is Max Verstappen.

A blond boy walked into the room, a scowl on his face. Charles recognized him instantly as the biker from earlier.
Mr. Hamilton, their tutor, narrowed his eyes. “Can I help you?” He spoke shortly, rudely, barely glancing at the teacher.
“This is my form, I guess.” There was a hint of an accent there. German, maybe.
“What’s your name?”
“Max.”
______________When Max arrives at school, Charles thinks he's the angriest, rudest person he's ever met. An insufferable teenager who cares for nothing and no one.
