The man wordlessly shuffled into the living room, each step like he was trudging through the marshes of Dihua. He seemed tired — unbearably so — and Zhongli wasted no time in collecting him in his arms.
“Are you alright?” He whispered, pressing his lips into those ginger curls. “You seem fatigued.”
“Long day.”
A simple, straight to the point answer. Zhongli knew it would be best not to pry.
“You know I’ll always be here if you want to talk about it,” He settled on saying, hoping it would quell the unsaid problems plaguing the other’s mind.
And it seemed to work judging by the way his lips were captured in less than a second, a sweet and soft kiss that spoke volumes of the affection shared between the two. But as they parted, breath mingling in the air between them, Zhongli sensed something was amiss.
Childe has his doubts, but Zhongli reminds him that he’s loved.- Language:
