“What’s going on?” Jisung asks.
Chan doesn’t bother with pleasantries. He and Jisung keep in touch well enough through an ongoing text thread that he knows about the concept of Jisung’s upcoming album, the U.S. tour at the end of the year, that there is no one significant in Jisung’s life aside from the elderly neighbor that occasionally feeds his cat, Nana, and foists confusing baked goods like zucchini bread on him.
So, when Chan calls, he gets straight to business. “I want to talk to you about an interview.”
“An interview.” The word feels uncomfortable on Jisung’s tongue. It sticks in his throat, causes it to constrict.
Silence stretches between them before Chan admits, “Well, a little more than an interview. A docuseries, of sorts.”
(It’s been ten years since Jisung lost Minho and Stray Kids. Now, they’re telling the story.)

Minho turned around, eyebrow raised again, and clearly done with the conversation. And Jisung couldn’t blame him.

“I need your help.”

“Three weeks?” Chan asks. For about the tenth time.
“Three weeks,” Jiyoo confirms from the head of the table. Smiling at them like she gets what it means. “You deserve a good break after such a long tour.”
“But—” Chan starts to protest. Then shuts his mouth. Minho knows what he’s about to say. That they have a comeback to plan, an album to release. It’s been over a year since Ate, their last ‘proper’ comeback. Yes, they released two Japanese albums in the meantime, not to mention Hop and the Dominate Mixtape, but Chan won’t count those.
“Thank you!” Seungmin shouts, leaning over the table to clamp his hand over Chan’s mouth. “We’re so grateful for everything you do for us.” He almost sounds sarcastic, but Minho knows he means it.
