Rio's character isn't explored all that much in PoDaD, but he's one of the people that has to have been hit hardest by Aspen's actions in United. Mostly he's Pip's biggest naysayer, at first. But then in book three, he's the one that firmly tells her that she's Pack, and when he goes with the group to Magiford he's hanging with East and patrolling the area with him. Lynn also happens to glance at the table where he's sitting when she says that someone besides Wyatt and Aeric has been keeping her up to date. So I wanted to explore his POV just a little.

Aslansgirl13 has a number of fics following up on the events of the Snow Queen. The Sunshiners are a group of escaped gladiators she wrote into her fics, and Keagan is one of the unnamed Sunshiners. So I suppose this is a fanfic of a fanfic that follows Keagan and a young woman of Verglas named Ashira.

This fic comes after the Mage Hater? as well as Sunny Friendship and Embrace the Sunshine, where Dan and Asher are introduced. It is also after many of AslansGirl13's Sunshiner fics and exists in the same world. I was going to put this with the Mage Hater short, but it's gotten to be darker than anticipated and I want to leave the short on it's own as it kind of sets up for Glint of Sunshine a bit. So, for this Dan has started his journey of coming to like and work with mages, but he's still unnerved by it. He and his brother set out as part of a mission to rescue more of the gladiators from Sarthe, and their time in the pit is where the mature rating comes in. As with all my work, it is clear of swearing and spice, but with slavery very active in Sarthe it's got some darker or more intense emotional moments.

...At this point the only thing this has to do with Snow Queen is that it's in that world. It takes place after a number of my and Aslansgirl13's fics, but is most closely related to and follows Embrace the Sunshine, A Sunny Friendship, and The Mage Hater. Warning, this one's definitely a bit sad. Keagan comes back from another mage-freeing mission with an orphaned baby in need of a home that he and Ashira will be unable to provide long term.
