Summary
Once, far away, in the prosperous Kingdom of Edgeworth, lived a prince handsome yet cruel. That prince wanted to avoid marriage so badly that he had set into place a terrible decree. Anyone wishing to court him must fulfill a special challenge in order to win his hand; however the punishment for failure was death. The challenge was so difficult that no one, in all the years since the prince first issued it, had ever triumphed of it. The cycle of violence seemed inescapable, the executions innumerable, the night endless.
Until one day, an unknown traveller came to attempt the challenge and went further than any of his predecessors...

Each chapter springs up around various homes, furniture, and found family. As Phoenix and Maya attempt to pick up the pieces after Mia's death, Edgeworth and Franziska are likewise struggling to figure out themselves and their feelings in the wake of Von Karma. Mostly about letting people into your life and letting them change your way of life: how caring for others can ultimately help you care for yourself.
