Summary
For Gavin Reed, survival has become more of a personal challenge than a basic need. In the end, all of his achievements mean nothing and never helped him sleep at night. But he was living, that was the important part. Right?
Hank Anderson, Lieutenant of the DPD, Decorated Officer from the Vice Task Force, Professional Alcoholic and Fuck Up, has been at odds with Gavin since the younger man entered his department a few years back and they began their personal war for the position of Lieutenant.
Hank would honestly just give it all up, but his friends in the DPD seem stubbornly insistent on keeping him there.
RK800 has been assigned a special task: he is to take prototype RK900 into his first field test and assess his stability in real life situations. Connor is excited and nervous. Rick has always been ‘unique’ as far as androids went, but he’s got faith that his brother will be just fine.

Summary
Connor and his brother Nines are dragged on a pre-college vacation with their parents to some lame resort in the middle of nowhere run by their dad's eccentric friend. Nines immediately sets in on his favorite way to pass the time in boring backwater places: seducing straight men. Meanwhile, Connor is being dogged by the manager's awkward son. In attempting to escape his attention, Connor finds himself enchanted by the resort's dance instructors: a beautiful woman named Vivianne and the handsome Hank Anderson.

Summary
Gavin Reed, self proclaimed Trash - more bark than reason - desperately hiding a gnawing anxiety inside his head, is going through the motions of accepting this new Android Revolution thing but mostly he's just pissed about his recent break up. He takes most of his anger out on himself, but the fall out seems to constantly involve his new partner, RK900.

Summary
Shortly after the Android Revolution, RK900 is woken up by Connor and told that his primary function - to hunt Deviants - is no longer applicable. He joins the DPD in an attempt to find a purpose in a job that is at least vaguely similar to his prior function. There he meets the biggest enigma of his time since waking up: Gavin Reed. The detective is a mess of conflicting information and hostile humor, but the longer RK900 works with him the more he finds himself fascinated by this unusual man.
