Summary
When the Duttons settled in Montana, almost 7 generations ago, they didn’t settle alone. An immigrant family, the Calderon’s, settled with them, providing money and protection for one thing. Invisibility, a place to hide from their roots.
They changed their name, blending in with the American people and its culture until they were regarded as normal.
Now, all those years later, Damon Calderon Mitchell finds himself buried under the dirt of the graves of both the Dutton’s and the Calderon’s. United in grief, he will do anything to protect the Yellowstone and the lives on it.

There is no beginning to this story.
If there was, then it would be larger than human comprehension and full of assumptions, which is unneeded. You might say that the beginning would be the birth. Others may stay the very start of the universe. But this story, no, we start in the end.
For why start at the beginning? To give a sense of Sympathy for the characters in the story? To give a justification for their actions?
No, I will not start at the beginning, I will start at the end.

Summary
Steve remembers first meeting Eddie, at the swings in pre-K.
Warm hazel eyes meeting dark amber.
He had asked him to play with him and even now Steve couldn’t have said no to those puppy eyes.
That day had turned to everyday, everyday turning to every hour, every minute.
Steve remembers when he first fell for Eddie, a crown of flowers in his hair and a scalding blush reaching his cheeks.
Little Eddie had kissed him on the cheek, “for the prettiest princess around” he had said. Steve cried that day, he cried and in return gave him his first guitar pick.
Later on, for their 7th anniversary, he would gift it back, the words “Zwishcen Immer Und Nie” engraved alongside their names.
OR
Steve and Eddie grew up falling in love with each other, Steve never dating Nancy and Eddie moving to Louisiana during Middle School only to show up for his last (repeated) year of highschool.

He doesn’t remember when it started. No, he remembers when he started. It started when he born, just a babe nestled in his mothers arms. His mother would look at his Italian features a month later and shame him. Leaving him to be raised by a sickly father, soon to die of overdose, and a grandmother thousands of miles away.
He doesn’t remember when it ended. It seemed to never end, only pause at little moments. Moments when someone remembered his birthday, or when someone remembers that he doesn’t celebrate Christmas, and that he’s not Christian at all.
A constant cycle of neglecting and pain.
Maybe it’s time to leave.
