Summary
As he nears the floor in question, he hears a murmuring of more voices on a morning during workday hours than should be present. He pushes through the door to the correct floor and finds a corridor glutted with tenants, whispering urgently between each other and all focused on a singular flat.
The crowd turns to eye him suspiciously. He ignores how disconcerting the feeling of that many eyes on him feels as he pushes through the throng of bodies. Some people move out of the way, but he pushes his way through the toughest looking men, gangbangers and chavs, who don’t until he stands in the open doorway of the flat.
A child screams gutturally inside the flat.
Or, Sleep Token meets the Constantine (2005) movie.

Summary
He could never get away. Right when he thought he’d slipped out of its reach, its arms would wrap around him with a vice grip and drag him into the murky depths. Sleep.

Summary
"I don’t know if I’m a guest or a prisoner. Maybe I’m just a relic. Something they don’t quite know what to do with"
Turns out the UNSC doesn’t need a hero once the fighting’s done.
Just one they can store until it's convenient.
They said I was being reassigned - some sort of diplomatic post, long-range monitoring. Out of sight, out of mind.
They didn’t say I’d be living with Sangheili. Or that The Arbiter would be there, looking at me like he still believes I can be something other than broken.
I don’t know what I am now: not a soldier; not a machine. Just a man with too many scars and nowhere left to report in.
But the silence here isn’t empty. And for the first time in a long time, I’m starting to wonder if peace might be survivable."
Sequel to Insomnia.

Summary
Eyes. Huge, ocean blue, gorgeous eyes.
And they're staring right at him. Into him. Through him.
Vessel feels seen. He feels witnessed. His thoughts surely laid bare to this stranger. The man knows his secrets. He knows what he's done, he knows, he knows—
Vessel's stomach drops right through his body and into the center of the earth. He desperately wishes to follow it. To disappear. But doing that would mean not seeing those eyes ever again. It would be tantamount to torture, condemning himself to starvation after only just glimpsing something so delicious.OR:
A story in which the vessels are all artists. There’s idiots in love. There’s a coffee shop. There’s a memory that none of them can quite hold onto. There may or may not be an old god trapped in a painting.

Summary
“I know,” III says regretfully. “I understand it’s a big leap of faith, considering what just happened to you. But—” III pauses here, and he watches as III turns to stare at his friends outside— “but II and I have already done this for Ves. We could do it for you too, easily.”
This could end so badly, he thinks, but the worst thing that could happen to him has already happened.
