Summary
This is based on a puzzling difference between the zero-g training scene in the movie and the official novelization:
In the movie, Alita sees a hologram of Nova who is presented as an enemy. Meanwhile in the novelization, Nova belongs to the URM elite and watches Alita training with Gelda from a gallery.
How is that possible? My theory is, they’re both somewhat canon - just set apart in time. This story is my take on the events that took place between the training in the novel and the movie.
