“I mean, I guess I deserve it.” They brought their hand behind their neck. “I've been messing with you for as long as I can remember. Gotta say though, this is pretty mean for a prank.”
“What? Prank? Wait, Kris-”
“Like, I've gotten this literally beaten into me, I still get headaches from looking at wiffle bats, but there’s just stuff you shouldn’t joke about. Love is definitely one of them.”
“Kris.”
They turned to her and forced a smile, raising four fingers. “Four out of ten. The letter was a pretty good set up, the lake’s a good location, and you get points for the absurdity, but this is pretty mean.”
“Kris!”
“Hm?”
“I’m? Not joking???” She said with a baffled expression. “I’m being serious here?”
(Or, in which Noelle confesses to Kris, and Kris is not very good at handling confessions.)

Summary
While the light that shines the way has returned, there are consequences for it vanishing for so long. As the Dark World journey through the church finally draws closer to an end, Kris, Susie, and Ralsei are all incredibly fatigued after what they have already been through to find the Angel. With the dynamic of the group altered significantly, all of them march towards fate to a fight they have little chance of winning.
The Titan is "the shadow of the backside of your mind". Not even the Angel is entirely immune to its grasp. When the Angel hears a question that rattles them to their core, the entire fight starts to shift. Even if everyone comes out of this fight alive, there will be questions. Unfortunately, the Angel has always been good at dodging.
