Summary
In the middle of a mission to prevent the theft of an expensive crown Julia, Zari, and Chase find themselves injected with VILE's new experiment: a truth serum. They have to retrieve the stolen goods while learning how to work together with a level of honesty they've never dealt with before.
Oh, and Julia has to find a way to hide her massive crush on Carmen Sandiego when the woman in red just happens to be after the exact same crown.

Summary
Obviously, Carmen knows how to vanish without a trace - she’s great at disappearing, whether it be into a crowd or into thin air. It’s an excellent thing to have an aptitude for in her line of work, but it’s a little less convenient for Julia. When she isn’t being hyperaware of her every movement and the details of her surroundings, Julia tends to just… lose track of her.
Clearly, she needs a solution, and so she comes up with an easy one.

Summary
julia glances down at the girl in her arms, her head resting against her chest. she runs her fingers absentmindedly through her hair, and carmen leans contentedly into her touch.
“我爱你,” julia whispers. i love you.
carmen stirs in her embrace, but doesn’t respond. moments later, she’s snoring, having fallen back asleep. julia holds her close, praying that she can’t feel just how fast her heart is beating.
well. telling her in mandarin was one way to do it.
OR, julia tells carmen she loves her in mandarin, not knowing that she learned chinese when she was younger and understands exactly what she's saying.

Summary
It begins on the train.
(To be fair, it begins before the train. It begins in Poitiers, when she watches from the ground as a woman in red glides off of the rooftop and into the night. It begins when she walks into what seems to be a museum of stolen goods; art and artifacts considered lost by the collectors and archeologists of the world. She finds the diamond, and more things besides, and La Femme Rouge escapes with something. Devineaux is spitting fire, but Julia is intrigued.)
