"His hair is getting long, is the first thought that crosses his mind as he upends his helmet over the gravel. The water trapped inside splashes cold against his shoes, and his hair sticks to the back of his neck, equally frigid.
It's not uncomfortable like he'd expected. The sensation isn't- well it's not desirable, and he wrings out the loose curls as soon as he can- but he doesn't hate it. Maybe it's just the length. Cold, wet hair can stay on his 'no thanks' list for now, but the length can stay."

A wonderful, fantastic, amazing radio static based fic that's so much more than just a ship fic. 10/10 be sure to read again. For use in boring classes to stall the headaches.
