    Spencer has clawed back control in bits and pieces with nothing but his nails and desperation his entire life. He's done things he probably shouldn't have in the name of survival, sure, but he knows the risks better than anyone. The careful lines of arteries and veins, their names, and everything else he recites to himself when he's not so certain he's managing any of this right anymore. It's working, he'll be fine.

    The blood is collecting on the motel floor.
