Summary
This is the first of a series of essays I wish to write on the Gender Politics of Sherlock fandom. There are many things I wanted to say at the official panel but was unable to, since it was derailed by a group of individuals who showed up with the intention of intimidating and harassing the panel moderator. In future essays, I’d like to share my thoughts on femslash, Mary Sues and the fridging of female characters, on heteronormativity in slash, and on queer representation beyond slash (bisexual, pansexual, asexual and trans people in fanworks and fan spaces). I’d like to touch on race and being a queer Woman of Color in a fandom mostly interested in White male characters.
Before I get to those subjects, however, I feel a need to return to the original intended topic: the essay I began writing on my phone on the plane.
And that essay is on the subject of noncon fanworks.

The Good Hunter did everything right, or so he thought. But instead of putting an end to the Hunt, all he managed to do was to become an even deeper part of it. By killing Gehrman and submitting to Moon Presence, he accepted his fate as her new surrogate child and watcher of the Hunter's Dream.
Now, the Doll is his only company, as he guides all the hunters that came after him.
Until one day the dream offers him a very unusual hunter. One that is twice his size and looks more like an ancient knight than a hunter. One with whom he feels a strange kinship.

The android after that night was surprisingly more chipper, still business as usual but every so often he would meet Hank’s gaze from across the desk and smile at the older man; occasionally nudging Hank with his foot playfully, or if Hank was getting riled up.
Hank had been contemplating just how strange it would be dating an android before, but now he actually was, it was kind of nice. Besides, Connor was hardly just your everyday android, was he?

Almond-shaped, wide open, with sparks of excitement igniting in their depths - just like the sparks of bright electricity that still jumped from clasp to clasp of the stranger’s travelling coat.
Kormac forced himself to look away then, not really knowing why it was so hard. But what he saw around stole from him what few words he still had left.
Bodies… everywhere. Burned and smoldering, some not even in one piece… gruesome, bloody carnage that he was standing in, his bare feet warm from juices liberally covering the ground.
