As he rounded the alleyway corner all Grian could hear was the thundering of blood in his ears and his shaky, uneven breath as he pounded along the dirty streets, clutching desperately at his bloodied hand cradled to heaving chest.
He was attempting to use his black turtleneck sleeve to keep the gaping wound on his hand plugged, but it was slowly becoming soaked with blood. Behind him was certain death, footsteps staggering ever closer as the hunter became the hunted.
