The fox notices that too. it lifts him up, doing it with no trouble as if he was just a bag of feathers. The fox is careful not to touch the bleeding parts of him, it’s arms cage him firm but gentle. Wait…how can a fox do that? He’s too tired to think clearly, the boy hears it speak one last time before he completely blacks out.

Giyuu's eyes—once deep, round pools of blue that looked like a calm ocean—were now sharp, vertical slits, glowing with an unnatural light.
Aoi's heart pounded in her chest, the realization crashing over her like a wave. The man who had fought so valiantly to protect them, who had refused to give in even when the odds were against him... was now one of them.
"No..." she whispered, her voice trembling. "It can't be..."
But the truth was undeniable. Giyuu was no longer human.
He was a demon.
