“It’s…” Keiji starts to correct him, then realizes it isn’t worth the effort. There’s no point dragging out a conversation with someone he knows he’s never going to see again. He gives the patron a small nod and says, “It’s fine. I’m just doing the job they pay me to do.”
“And now I know who to ask for the next time I come in!” The patron grins at him, hands resting proudly on his hips, and Keiji takes another half-step back. “Bokuto Koutarou, by the way.”
“Okay.”

Keiji studies the hands still fidgeting in his lap. “I, uh… I’ve never actually hooked up with someone before. I’m not sure I understand the… protocol.”
“You could practice with me.”
“Sorry?” His head snaps up. His posture straightens. He waits for the moment when Bokuto’s serious expression breaks and they can both joke about the prospect of the two of them sleeping together as nothing more than that: a joke.
It never comes.
Convinced the reason his relationships don’t last is because of his performance in bed, Akaashi Keiji accidentally enlists his roommate to help him “improve” his skills. Completely platonically, of course.

The words are out of his mouth before he can stop them, dripping from his lips like the fresh syrup he’d slathered over his pancakes earlier. And he curses himself as Iwa-chan’s eyes snap open, the bright green specks all but glowing as they reflect the seeping light, Tooru’s heart stuttering, the lump in his throat growing as he inadvertently falls harder for the other.
“It’s the worst,” he breathes. “You wanna know why? My entire life…my entire existence. Every part of me always wants you. Even when you’re not here, you’re the only one I can think of. It’s like I can’t function when you’re near me and that’s fine. That’s fine. But then, I have to sleep next to you. Sleep. When all I want is to—”
In which the rain is pouring. The mutual pining is, too. And Tooru gets to share a bed with the only alpha he's ever loved.

After hearing the rumors and personal accounts from comrades regarding the prince’s piss-poor attitude and over-inflated ego, he’d done his damnedest to avoid being anywhere near the man. That had been a feat in and of itself, especially considering how often he worked within the palace walls, but he’d managed the task. Iwaizumi had never been known for his patience, and from everything he’d heard, being stuck in the same room as the bastard sounded about as smart as striking flint beside a barrel of gunpowder.
But, fuck if he wasn’t pretty. No, that wasn’t right. Suga was pretty. Kiyoko was gorgeous. But Prince Oikawa… he was stunning.
And it made Iwaizumi hate him all the more.

When Kiyoomi would allow himself to think about it, he imagined Atsumu would have strong, earthy pheromones; the type that coat Kiyoomi’s throat and suffocate him quickly.

I went to write a spicy ushioi for a friend and I wound up knocking out 10k words of something kind of sweet and kind of smutty. The whole story is very indulgent. And it's sort of canon-compliant if you squint.
At age 35, Oikawa and Ushijima are both feeling a little lost in their post-volleyball lives. They have similar, but different, coping mechanisms.

“I actually…” Oikawa’s voice is small as he picks at his jacket again and quietly admits, “I actually haven’t been on a date before.”
For the second time in ten minutes, Hajime’s head whips around to face Oikawa in shock. “This is your first date? Ever?”
His eyebrows scrunch together. “I’m not popular like you, you know,” he huffs. “Not everyone can be good-looking and asked out on a weekly basis like Iwa-chan.”
Hajime weighs up how badly he’d be fumbling his chances if he just started sprinting down the street and shouting at the top of his lungs to burn off the sudden rush of exhilaration he feels at hearing Oikawa call him good-looking. He ultimately chooses to curb the impulse because he does want another date and it won’t happen if Oikawa thinks he can’t be normal about taking a compliment.
(He can’t. He’s so not normal about this.)
Iwaizumi and Oikawa go on their first date.

So genuinely. So patiently. So beautifully.
