Summary
Long ago, the Winds of Water decimated the world and the human population with it. Mewtwo, believed to have caused the Great Storm, lives in the shadow of his mother, Queen Mew. Deeming him an unsatisfactory heir, Mew pressures her son to marry and produce a grandchild for her to mold into her successor. When her attempts to betroth him fails, she purchases a slave for the task. Mewtwo is horrified, but isn't strong nor confident enough to fight his mother...yet. Sabrina, meanwhile, is just trying to stay alive—a task made more difficult when the ghosts from her past follow her into her new life.
This story blends the anime and game canons together, with everyone—except for the Legendaries—being born later than they would have been if this were a continuation of the first movie. These chapters were written the summer of 2016, after I was inspired by ErinPtah's "Ein Liebender liegt dir zu Füßen."

Dominion by Aurelia le: A Chapter-by-Chapter Review by WiseAbsol for Aurelia le

Summary
This is a compilation of the reviews I've written for Aurelia le's "Dominion," in which I discuss sections of the writing that catch my eye, yell at the characters when they're hurting my heart, and speculate about where the story might be going (just because I'm Aurelia's beta doesn't mean I know all of the details). I also address Aurelia at points, since these reviews were originally written for her, rather than a larger audience. Note that the length and depth of these reviews increases drastically once we hit chapter seven. Finally, while I try to avoid spoiling the developments in later chapters, I would recommend reading the story first before reading these reviews.
Content Warning: "Dominion" by Aurelia le contains discussions and depictions of child abuse, emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, and incest. This story also explores the idea that Zuko’s redemption arc and his unlearning of abuse is not as complete as the show suggested, and that Azula is not a sociopath, with the story having a lot of sympathy for her. If that doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, I would steer clear of this story and my reviews of it.

But what if fate had woven a different tale?

Summary
Driven by a need to understand the species that created him, Mewtwo abandons his powerful Pokémon form and assumes a human body. He reinvents himself not as a ruler or a god, but as an observer: an anthropologist intent on studying humankind from within its contradictions. His research leads him to Unova, a region dense with culture, corruption, and quiet violence — an ideal environment in which to dissect morality, intimacy, and survival.
There, he encounters a woman who works as a prostitute. She seems simple enough, but beneath her façade lies a buried past, sharp intelligence, and a talent for reading people who believe themselves untouchable. Mewtwo is drawn to her not purely by desire, but by curiosity. She is human in the most dangerous sense: adaptive, wounded, and observant.
As he studies her, she studies him in return.
What begins as a controlled experiment slowly erodes into something unstable.
"Red Hot Lies" is a dark psychological story which explores manipulation, identity, trauma, and the cost of intimacy when honesty is absent.

Summary
Long before the present age, Mewtwo fractured the world in the Great War, seeking to disrupt the gods themselves.
"Eclipsed" is a story born of that devastation, set in a world rebuilt from ruin under a new and merciless order. From the ashes of fallen nations rose Mewtwo, a god forged by suffering and will, who seeks dominion rather than balance. Within his palace serves Arei, a woman raised from childhood as his priestess: venerated, isolated, and shaped into the living mouthpiece of his doctrine as his cult spreads across the region.
Arei’s escape reveals a truth far older than devotion. She is one of the Children of the Sun, bound to Mew, the Mother Goddess, and inexplicably favored by Arceus, the silent Creator whose absence has shaped the universe. As three great religions clash -- those who worship Arceus, those who follow Mew, and those who kneel before Mewtwo -- the conflict between Light, Darkness, and something older than both begins anew.
Caught between gods and religions that claimed her before she could think for herself, Arei must confront the question she was never allowed to ask: who she is, and where her loyalty truly lies.

Summary
Mewtwo was created to be used. His power, his immortality, even his will were meant to belong to Sakaki, who seeks to bind him once more and reduce his godlike existence to something owned rather than lived.
Ai is cloned again for that purpose, meant only as a lure to draw him back into captivity. She is not meant to be real in the ways that matter. She is not meant to choose, to feel, or to reach for him as a person rather than a tool. But in her presence, something in Mewtwo breaks open. With Ai, there is no demand for power, only recognition. No command, only closeness, trust, and the quiet risk of caring.
This story follows Ai as she awakens to her own personhood, and the bond that forms between them, one shaped by restraint, mutual recognition, and shared isolation. Through her, Mewtwo is forced to confront a life-altering question: whether immortality is worth it without intimacy, risk, or love.
At the edges of the story stands Mew, ancient and watchful, carrying grief across lifetimes.
What unfolds is not a safe, easy romance, but a deliberate choosing of two lovers in a world built to deny them both, a story about love as defiance, and about making an impossible choice.
