    Summary

    I write song parodies. They are parodies in the literal sense, as in the lyrics are rewritten to fit a new character or theme, but only some are meant as jokes.

    This is a collection of parodies I have written for Critical Role. Lots of Shadowgast, as well as Essek and Caleb independently because I love their characters and all their complexities. Also a couple of Lucien-centric ones because inspiration struck and I follow where it leads.

    Hope you enjoy the fruits of my very weirdly specific skill!

    “Marley.” Ilya says evenly, suddenly knowing he can actually breathe. He had a plan and he knew what he needed to do. And he couldn’t do it from the locker room bench. “If he is very injured, if he cannot play again, if he is very bad, I will kill you. I will kill you painfully.”
    Cliff gapes at him.

    In which the hit that Cliff Marleau had on Shane Hollander goes a little different. For one, they’re in Boston. For another, Ilya realizes he might be panicking? Which is probably not something to do in the middle of a game. And, oh yeah, he just outed both himself and his not-boyfriend to an entire locker room of hockey players.

    But that’s okay, because while Boston may be vicious, they do take care of their own. And they quickly realize that their captain’s happiness and willingness to stay with the Bears is tied to Shane Hollander. The solution is easy, they’ll just have to make Shane Hollander a Bear.

    “Is sky blue? Is water wet? Is English stupid language? Yes, Hollander, of course we want best player in the league.” Ilya mutters more in disgruntled Russian and Shane gets up off the couch to Google Russian lessons on his ipad while continuing their conversation.

    Shane Hollander had a plan. It was a good plan, just as every other plan he’d ever made was a good plan. Then he watched a video of a burning plane carrying the love of his life and it became the only plan he’d ever changed.

    Shane goes to Tampa. The next morning, Troy Barrett receives a text from Ilya:

    “Bringing boyfriend to breakfast. Tell team to be not weird.”

    The Centaurs are, unsurprisingly, weird about it but become the best support system they could ask for as Shane and Ilya navigate the choice to fully begin their lives together and love each other out loud.
