Summary
A couple minutes pass by, the world on the screen the only noise, but then Stiles turns around again. He doesn’t say anything, but Derek understands anyways and feeds Stiles. It makes him satisfied in a way he’s both thrilled and concerned about, which basically sums up his life. But in this moment he focuses on Stiles, and the intimacy of their trust, the way Stiles allows him to provide for him. The way Stiles trusts him with these small things, and when it matters, with the big things. Like Stiles’ life.
This time, a murmur kick starts between the betas. Mainly Isaac and Erica, who are trying to tamp down their curiosity but are unable to do so. Boyd isn’t into the gossip, but Derek sees him watching them a couple of times.
On the other hand, he can smell Scott silently fuming, and Allison’s gentle scraping along his scalp, his arms. Trying to control him. Anchoring him. Derek smirks, unable to help the way his chest expands with possessive pride.

Only now does Stiles spare Derek a glance, pitying smile falling short of shrewd, contemplative eyes that sparkle when they catch the dappled sunlight. “The universe engraves a name on our skin, my friend. If it was meant to be private, we’d have the name on our ass.” Derek bristles. They are not friends—at least, not yet. At the rate they’re going, probably never “I’m trying to protect my best friend, dude. Questions aren’t illegal.”
“Has anyone ever told you, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar?”
Warm brown eyes lock on his. “Do you want me to sugar you up, Derek?”
“Why are you such an asshole?” With Isaac, Boyd and Erica, Stiles doesn’t act like this. In fact, their two packs have meshed better than Derek could ever have hoped, but Stiles and Derek are still oil and water.
“Asshole’s my middle name,” Stiles snarks back.
“Then your soulmate is lucky it’s only your first name written on their palm,” Derek sneers.
Stiles shrugs, gathering up his supplies and moving along the property line. “I wouldn’t be too sure about that.”

Summary
It had taken a couple of years but when Stiles finally realized that he could do things to Derek that no one else could, he never stopped using that to his advantage.
It was little things, at first. He could make the man smile, make him laugh. Stiles liked to see Derek soften around the edges in a way that he wouldn’t if Stiles were anyone else.
The first time Stiles had touched him— really touched him, fingers moving up underneath the alpha’s henley, lips trailing down the side of his neck— Derek had shivered and let out a whine. And Stiles had realized then that he was in love with the way he could make Derek Hale melt underneath his fingertips.
