Set during the third movie; After Grimmel’s ruthless attack, Hiccup finds he has no choice but to leave Berk for good. Crushed under the weight of grief and responsibility, he struggles to keep pushing forwards. Viggo’s death hurt him more than he’d like to admit, and the man’s memory still haunts Hiccup into his chiefdom, things are only worse now his father is gone too. He isn’t expecting to find much on the empty island they come across, he certainly isn’t expecting to have his already scrambled life flipped completely upside down by a man he’d long believed to be dead
This fic starts off from Hiccup finding new Berk, all other events from the third movie are pretty much what happens beforehand (minus the light furry, she ain’t in this one, and the insane number of dragons there were on Berk, consider the dragon population the same as it was in the second movie).

He lived by these rules for so long, that when a hero came and wrecked every single one of them, what could he do but fall?
The least he could do is die protecting the one he loved. He was destined to have a tragic end.
And yet, Hiccup saw fit to break that rule too.

Summary
As the latest Dragon training begins, Viggo and his people arrive on Berk to help hunt for the nest. Their delayed arrival was because of a storm and so they stayed to help with the training. Viggo is a little surprised to find a teenager smaller than the others with others in training. One who would disappear right after training and only appear for dinner.
Then the boy started doing significantly better than the others. Trying to follow him ended up with Viggo losing him more than once. Then the boy would suddenly be gone and no one seemed to know where. Then whispers about missing supplies. It wasn't much it was happening regularly. At first, it was just food, fish and bread, but then tools, herbs and bandages, blankets, and clothes. The other Vikings paid no attention, but Viggo recognized someone was preparing to runaway. He had a feeling he knew who.
