Violet grunts and lazily turns her head to face Cait, her cheek resting against the pillow. She opens her mouth to speak but seems to notice the stuffed rabbit for the first time and her teeth clack as her mouth snaps shut. She shifts to nuzzle against it. Then softly, “Vi,” she says.
“What?”
“My name. It’s Vi,” she clarifies and Caitlyn decides she quite likes it. It suits her.
“Okay. I’m going to call the nurses here now,” Caitlyn says and reaches for her own call button. “Vi?”
“Hmm?”
“I’m glad you’re okay.”

Vi’s other eyebrow joined the first.
It was fucking weird Caitlyn was hesitating to ask her anything.
A few seconds later, the dots popped up again.
Vi sighed, starting to type.

Vi laughed, picturing the wrinkle between Caitlyn’s eyebrows as she frowned at Vi’s word choice.
She stuck the last bite of her breakfast in her mouth as the three little dots popped up in the corner of her screen.

Vi read the message, her own brow crinkling as she made a confused face at the screen. She started typing “what” but only got as far as “wh–” when an image popped up under the message.

She had dark hair…she was slender…she had legs for days…and…her beanie was Piltover colors.
Vi walked forward the final few strides and slid in next to her.
Vi cleared her throat, doing her best not to startle her, “Is uh…is that you?” she asked, inclining her head toward the screen when the woman - Gods, she was fucking gorgeous - lifted her head to look at Vi with beautiful, curious blue eyes.

Vi shouldn't have been surprised to learn that Caitlyn and Maddie were dating. They made sense in a way Caitlyn and Vi never did, but that doesn't mean the revelation hurt any less. Well, time for Vi to push the pain inside and ignore it until she dies, like any normal well adjusted adult would do!
When Maddie insisted the three of them head out for some drinks to relax for a short while after the fight against Ambessa, Vi didn't see why not. To Vi's delight, a very familiar face from Stillwater came to join the group on their night out.
Vi doesn't think she's ever seen Caitlyn so pissed off in her entire life.

Suddenly, Catra is so wrong. There's no way she can keep it down. It feels like throwing up, but it's yellow carnation petals that litter the ground and the counter. Her eyes widen—she's never released that many petals at one time. It's definitely getting worse. She looks up, tears in her eyes from coughing, and Adora is watching her horrified. Catra bites her lip and looks down. She can't take watching the realization Adora will have that she's pathetically pining for her, that she has been for ages.
She feels Adora's hand fall on her shoulder as she comes around the other side of the kitchen. "You're in love with someone?"
She looks up and Adora's eyes are curious and open, a hint of fire blazing through them.
"Yes." It would be stupid to deny it. Everyone knows what it means when this happens.
Adora looks torn, eyes wide as she searches for words. "And they don't—this person? They don't—"
"She doesn't love me back, no," Catra says flatly.
