It's been a year since his best friend fell, and everyone has forgotten. Everyone but him. There are two occasions in John's life in which he didn't feel alone, when he felt needed. The first was when he was in Afghanistan. The second was when he was with Sherlock. The latter had been stolen from him, and he was going to re-enlist in the former. John Watson was going back to Afghanistan, and he was going to go out with a bang. Pity he didn't know that his decision would bring a dead man out of hiding.
