    Summary

    Starks didn't create beautiful things.
They created weapons that destroyed beautiful things. That was the way it had always been.

But when the four-year-old's wide eyes blinked at him, Tony was struck with the sudden realization that maybe that had been a lie.

    Summary

The world keeps pushing him, demanding, because what he did wasn't enough. Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, but that wasn't enough, wasn't ever enough.

Tony Stark was tired. But he had a planet to protect, even if everyone laughed at him whenever the prospect of alien invasions was brought up. He could count on one hand how many people he could trust, which was disheartening but then, what else was new?

    Or,

In which Tony does not, in fact, intend to take over the world.

...unfortunately, everyone else missed that particular memo.

[gradual divergence from canon, starting at the end of Iron Man 3. In which it's Tony's self-awareness, rather than his support system, that becomes a cryptid sometime during Phase II.]

    Summary

“This job... we try to save as many people as we can. Sometimes that doesn't mean everybody. But if we can't find a way to live with that, next time... maybe nobody gets saved.”

At the end of the day Steve did save everybody. He saved Bucky from Tony, his team from the government, the world from the Sokovia Accords. Some time would probably have to pass for things to blow over, and then everything would go back to normal. Couple of days. Tops. After all Team Cap saved everybody, showing the world how dangerous the accords were, how easily they could be abused. Even their supporters had to come to their senses now.

Yet five days after Siberia nobody feels safe. Things don’t calm down and suddenly it’s again Steve against the rest of the world. Only now it’s not some international organisation or government but the people. The ones he had saved. Slowly Captain America must realize that they don’t feel saved but angry, hurt and scared.
The people demand justice for those who were really trying to save them and paid the price for it.

    Summary

Tony looked at him, bold and true and utterly sincere, “Kid, I’m on your side, no matter what.”

Like most good things, it started with an accident.

    Well, kinda.

This is a story about how a snarky, emotionally stunted genius became more than a mentor and how a just-trying-to-figure-it-out, doing his best superkid became the son he never had. No matter how empty our hearts are, love can always fill the gaps.

    Summary

“You’re our one billionth customer!” a man in a suit exclaimed enthusiastically. He rushed forward and shook Peter’s hand. “Congratulations!”

A news camera was shoved in front of their faces, filming their shocked reactions as a woman rushed forward and handed Peter a large check for—

“Five wishes!” she exclaimed giddily. “Yours to demand at any time! Congratulations!”

Peter and Tony exchanged a look of panicked confusion.

    ...

Tony just wanted to buy Peter some new clothes. He did not want to be mobbed by Manhattan Mall's version of Make a Freaking Wish.
