Oh, how he wishes he could have chosen.
In a world where you're either overlooked or exploited for your quirk, Hawks would love nothing more than to be invisible. To disappear from the fame, from the eyes, from the responsibilities that he never asked for when his parents gave him away to the Commission, from the pain.
Though pain makes itself known eventually, whether you invite it to or not.
But really, sitting on the floor of the League of Villains, thinking like a child just to cope, was not how Hawks envisioned the pain showing up.
OR
A lil fic of mine about how the Commission really treated its best "heroes" and the coping mechanisms, good or bad, that one particular hero derived from it. Add in some projection, a bit of fluff between the hurt, and, suddenly, it's a fic.

His ignorance turned to suppression.
And suppression needed an outlet.
His outlet just happened to come in his back-to-school kit.
Five months later he downloaded the app. Five months later, somebody entered his life without Midoriya even knowing they’d opened the front door. “

Kirishima and Midoriya both struggle with similar things and they both download a mental health app for similar reasons, chat, and befriend one another. But after a while, only one of them still considers this “just friendship”

Alexander Hamilton never learned to take his time, cut himself any slack, or rely on anyone else. In his mind, he has to be okay, because what's he going to do if he's not? Long story short, he's been running on empty for too long, and old habits die hard.
Aaron Burr has never liked himself. He's spent so long surviving that living doesn't even feel like an option. Now faced with such a wide world, would it even matter if he wasn't in it? and can anything fill the hollow in his chest?

He starts slow, easy, “Have you been eating enough? Usually, people don’t just pass out like that for no reason.” Burr is no doctor, but he’s pretty sure of this fact.
Hamilton visibly shrinks in on himself, cowering and defensive like a dog bearing its teeth. “My health is none of your concern, Burr.” He tries to close himself off, shoving all of his vulnerable parts of himself in a safe and swallowing the key.
Burr is having none of it.
