Summary
“Um,” he squeaked, internally kicking himself when his voice cracked. “I… My name’s Han Jisung, I’m sixteen, and I…” He swallowed the lump in his throat, his knees pressing closer to his chest as he fumbled over what words were to come out of his mouth next. He didn’t want to say it, because in his heart it wasn’t true, but if he had asked any of his friends; his family, they’d all tell him the same thing.
“I tried to kill myself.”

Summary
“We’ll escape this place eventually, yeah? Together.”
“Promise me?”
“I promise.”
“And we’ll go everywhere? We won’t end up like my mom, will we? Not stuck in an unhappy marriage in a town that eats us alive, right?”
Hyunjin meets Seungmin in their quiet and small hometown when he’s five years old, and they become inseparable in the blink of an eye. Throughout the years, Hyunjin learns a thing or two about the world and himself, falls in love with his best friend, and grows up in the process.
When Seungmin leaves, he takes a piece of Hyunjin’s heart with him. Hyunjin thinks that’s the end of it.
Or, Hyunjin’s trials and tribulations through growing up and falling in love with his best friend. There’s a treehouse, a train track moment, heartbreak, and a whole lot of yearning.

Summary
Seungmin doesn't step on it today.
He has already eaten. He's already dressed. He doesn't want to strip down again. It's too cold out for that. He would have had to have done it before his walk, but he forgot. It's too late to do it today. He'll do it tomorrow. He'll remember. (He won't. It's becoming too easy to forget.)
He opens his window more and lights a candle on top of his desk. His room won't smell of his soul rotting anymore, at least for today. He's back out of his room and working on finding things to do. The day is monotonous. He does his laundry. He sweeps. He watches videos on his phone. He eats a reheated lunch. He puts away his laundry. That's a real feat. That's a reason to celebrate. He wipes the counter and tables off. He’s on his phone again. He showers. Watches the grime peel off his skin like the orange he eats as a snack, and run down the drain. He spends more time on his phone. He ignores messages. He reads them but ignores them. That's too much. He's already doing a lot. He can't add that on.
