Chongyun sighs awaiting his friends arrival, but they apologetically declined, he understands he already technically celebrated his birthday with his friends yesterday, but today is the actual date of his birth, Xiangling is busy with work around Wanmin restaurant and Xingqiu gets bored from all the prayer work and rituals, he would rather engage in combat or read a book than to chant prayer rituals.
Xingqiu wouldn't purposefully avoid his birthday, but Chongyun didn't want to force him to come along, Xingqiu suggested he and Chongyun would eat out with Xiangling tonight, but it wouldn't be the same, after all this ritual ceremony is very important to Chongyun.
Invitations were sent out yet no one came but the Adeptus who went to pass by came right in time.
[Author had eaten spicy food (forcefully) the night before and drank coffee the next morning to keep awake for exams (at literally Chongyun's birthday) so they never posted the fic cause they got diarrhea]

Summary
Chongyun was born in an era near the end of the Archon war, as he grew older he went to aid those suffering from the aftereffects of the war. Alatus a debt collector, the subservient servant under his master who punishes those that don't pay their dues.
In the aftermath of the war years later, some gods who lived formed a peace contract with Rex Lapis, including Alatus’s master, a deceitful goddess under the false pretense of helping her people only to plunge them into debt, thus retaining her power despite losing the war.
Many wish to escape their debt, some escape their burdened realities in the form of dreams, as for Alatus's case dreams are a form of payment.
