Summary
Buck doesn’t even get to be mad at Eddie for leaving. He left to repair his relationship with Chris, and that would be a dick move to be mad at him for finally being the good father he always could be. Buck knows what it’s like to run and not have anyone chase him. So, he helps him leave. He looks at houses with Eddie, and helps him decide what he should take with him to Texas and what he should sell or throw out. Buck sports a supportive smile and helps the man he loves leave without a trace.
Or: Buck is sad and Eddie tells him to come to Texas for New Years.

Summary
The new house is too clean. Too quiet. Buck drops his keys on the counter just to hear them hit something, but the sound dies too fast. It’s not like the Diaz house, where there was always noise, laughter, life. He’s getting good at pretending it doesn’t ache, but after Chris and Eddie boomeranged back from Texas something was knocked out of place within him on the rebound.
He didn't duck in time.
Or, Buck starts faltering when Eddie touches him. Eddie notices.

“Look,” Buck says. “It’s not like I-I’m gonna move back in or anything, but you're still in pain. A lot of it, and I know you’re trying to downplay it—don’t look at me like that—so just let me help out with stuff for a couple days.”
Eddie quirks his lip at him. “You wanna rub ointment on my cast rash?"
“Who else would,” Buck says. It was supposed to be a question, lighthearted, but it’s just there. It hangs in the air, a miasma of all of Buck’s fully-realized feelings stinking up the place.
It’s gonna be a long six to eight weeks.
Three months after Buck moves out and two days after Buck realizes he’s in love, Eddie gets badly injured on the job. Buck unofficially moves back in to look after him.
He’s gonna be normal about it.

Summary
Buck is a giant pain in Eddie’s ass. He struts around the gym like he owns the fucking place (Eddie’s pretty sure that his name is on the business license and mortgage, not Buck’s), takes obnoxious selfies after every set he does with the weights, and has these cheap shitty earphones that blast his music loud enough for everyone around him to hear. Eddie had to threaten to ban him to get him to stop filming his workouts and write a new policy banning live streaming within the gym when Buck fought him on it.
