“Oh yeah,” Crowley drawled. “Never better. Peachy, even.” The last bit came out like a hiss. “C’n I come in?”
Muriel hesitated, considering him.
You have to understand—they weren’t meant to like Crowley. In fact, they weren’t even meant to be speaking to him. It was an order given straight from the Metatron as a part of Muriel’s bookshop-keeping assignment.
…But that proximity they’d shared just a month ago must’ve allowed a certain amount of his rebellious nature to rub off on them, because Muriel sort of liked him anyway.
