Summary
At the end of the day Rosinante knew he was moping. He knew he was worrying his kid and Law in the typical manner of a bratty and disgruntled thirteen year old with a devil fruit he was getting scarily good at using was acting up. Unfortunately for everyone involved that meant severing limbs and while little Luffy was all too happy to be hacked into pieces, the more weak-willed ranks of the marines were definitely not. It probably should have worried him enough that Borsalino of all people had been allowing Law to experiment on him, if only to keep the kid away from the rest of Marinefort, but Rosinante hadn’t even gotten the chance to focus on that before Garp knocked him out and whisked him away
Somehow, he doesn’t think this will reassure Law as well as the old marine thinks it will.

In a twist of events Law could have never foreseen, as if Fate itself was trying to make amends with the crappy deal in life he had been given, the more he was subjected to the extended family of the ASL brothers - and seas knew that was only when he could not get away from them - the more colors started blooming on his skin, as if trying to take the place of the offending patches of white that Amber Lead had stained him with until he started healing himself.

Summary
Law is aware that his - guardian? dad? - his Cora-san is an insanely loyal man that would go to the pits of hell and back for an unworthy child living on borrowed time. He is unsure whether this is something that is uniquely Cora-san or a sense that had been nurtured in him while the clumsy man had been raised away from the influence of his insane and megalomaniac older brother. That much does not surprise Law.
What does is to find out that the clumsy idiot loves him, a feeling that cannot be denied, not when pale pink blooms on his skin after the man picks him up yet again, not when bright yellow splashes on Cora's neck where Law is hanging on for dear life, the colours surprising both of them, making the elder turn into mush and smile like a fool.

It was a stupid fight. It was a stupid fight and Sakazuki should have expected it at some point, expected that one day Ace would be old enough to ask questions, to find out about things like Ohara - they were civilians dad why - would become curious enough to sniff through his files and find out all his damnable sins written down in black ink and the formality of a marine report.
It was a stupid fight handled poorly on both their parts and now Ace was missing and Sakazuki could not find him no matter how hard he looked.
