Ruby loves her team at Beacon Academy. Sky, Dove, Russel – they’re the greatest huntsmen she could have ever asked for. Sure, they might not be the best when it comes to fighting, and maybe their grades are a little lower than she’d hoped, and she can’t deny that they put less effort into their studies than they should, and strictly speaking they sort of don’t respect her word as leader half the time, and if the bullying of other students (especially the Faunus ones) could stop that’d just be swell, but, other than all that, she couldn’t have a better team!

Summary
Taylor never had Annette for a mother. Instead, she had Aine, a Japanese immigrant. Growing up as a half-Japanese girl in Brockton Bay was difficult, especially on top of the bullying she was already on the butt end of. But even when it seemed everything was against her, she still had two (not zero, not one, but TWO) emotionally available parents to come home too.
But of course, she lived in Brockton Bay, where you didn't get a happy ending unless you had the power to take one. The Empire decided to destroy the last thing Taylor had left, but in doing so, gave her the power she needed to take back her happy ending. The power to tear down the Empire, to avenge her mother and to rid Brockton Bay of the filth the heroes refused to scrub away.
Though whether or not walking that path would truly lead her to happiness, she could only find out the hard way.
Or: a character-based story, on dealing with grief and guilt without a support system + morality stuff + many fights and much violence. Warning for a fair bit of racist rhetoric, mostly in the first couple chapters.

Summary
Taylor has no powers, but her father controls rodents. He's stranded somewhere in the flooded ruins of Boston, having been press-ganged into serving the villain Accord. Taylor intends to rescue him and rebuild her small family, but she'll have to contend with the chaos stirred up by gangs led by supervillains-turned-warlord: Blastgerm, Damsels of Distress, the Pure, Accord's own Ambassadors, and the Teeth, not to mention whatever parahumans and evil clones may lurk in the shadows, nor the consequences of her actions in Brockton Bay.
