Shiro wasn’t entirely wrong, Ichigo supposed. It was difficult to deny that he was strong when the evidence was right in front of his face, in the mirror. He’d put his body through intense training and had the muscles to prove it. Even at that moment, at the age of 23, six years since he’d last been in a war, his body was still strong.
In other words, Ichigo slowly learns to see himself through Shiro's eyes.
