“What I know,” Logan interrupts viciously, “is that we’re not friends. I know you want us to be, that you think we are, but we’re not. As far as I’m concerned? You’re a stranger to me. And what you should know, as a person with some common fucking sense? Is not to badmouth someone’s fucking boyfriend in the same breath you’re asking them for a goddamn fucking favor.”
If Wade had a pin on him, he’d drop it just to test that theory.

“That’s why you said that,” Regulus breathed, and it was like it was punched out of him. “You… you were… I thought that was a joke.” His voice was thready. James still didn’t have the heart to look up at him. He felt like he wasn’t really there.
“Everyone did,” he shook his head. “It was always a joke.”
